There is no doubt that the cell phone is really convenient. It provides a safety net basis, the possibility of instant communication with others - and with the emergency services - if necessary. But it does pose problems of health or safety of being so hyperconnected during such long periods? Alarm tone: tumors and cancer

The typical Canadian home is full of toxic substances, that is to say, chemicals or preparations which present a danger to persons, animals or the environment. Lead paint

These products contain various chemicals that can be hazardous to human health when they are not used properly or in case of overexposure. Who are the gifted children?

How to identify gifted children

Young children are often seen by family, friends or teachers as exceptional learners. The school or parents can then pass standard psychological tests to determine the child's IQ, and other indicators of its ability. We know already that gifted children are able to learn earlier and faster than other children the same age group.

How do I know if my child is gifted?

Some of the features desired by parents and teachers to identify gifted children:
  •     exceptional creativity,
  •     academic excellence in one or more subjects,
  •     exceptional ability for leadership,
  •     maturity,
  •     ability for independent learning.
Why get tested potentially gifted children?

Children must pass tests in order to be eligible for some special programs for gifted children offered in public schools. These programs usually begin in Grade 4. Some private schools offer programs for gifted children in the first year. They require that children be assessed in order to accept these programs. Some parents believe their child is very intelligent, but his poor academic performances are due to the boredom caused by the lack of intellectual stimulation. Independent psychological evaluation can determine whether the child has the talent to continue learning at a more advanced level. Vaccines for children are safe, say Canadian health authorities

About the Flu

What is flu?

• Watch for signs of stress that you may incur. The act of treating a sick person can be stressful, learn how to reduce stress. If at some point, the situation seems overwhelming, do not hesitate to ask for help or to contact your health care provider.

The "good" and "bad" cholesterol ... What does it mean?

LDL cholesterol (low density lipoprotein) is also called "bad cholesterol". When there is too much LDL cholesterol in the blood, it accumulates on the inner wall of blood vessels and makes blood flow more difficult. The result is an increased risk of heart disease and stroke.

The total cholesterol (TC) can be measured directly from a blood test. It is roughly equivalent to the total amount of LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol and VLDL cholesterol in the blood.

The non-HDL cholesterol (non HDL-C) measures all types of cholesterol other than HDL cholesterol. It is equivalent to total cholesterol (TC) minus HDL cholesterol. It is a good measure of the amount of harmful cholesterol in the blood of a person.

What is depression?

The pharmaceutical companies would have us believe that depression is a well understood condition that is triggered by a lack of serotonin in certain parts of our brain. Therefore, appropriate treatment should simply be to choose the pill that would allow the rate of serotonin back to normal. The power of the brain
